"You don't go to war need soldiers to fight with you."
The words rolled off her tongue with such passion and grace.
I walked away from Tina Harris-Flanagan home today in awe of her story. Tina is a single mom, that battled the disease.
Having Cancer can change you..It can strip away at your body, but it can't strip your spirit.
When faced with our mortality, our true self is revealed. And we become grateful for things we previously took for granted. But as Tina would say...
You get 5 min to have a pity party...and you have to pick yourself up and move on...
Cause life is waiting for you...
The Batting 4 A Cure Board was blessed to hear her story and we presented her with a check.
We could not help this community without your donations. Thank you for everyone's continued love and support of Phil Lawler Batting 4 A Cure Foundation.
I will always fight....
I would go to war with you Tina

Sometimes I don't know if I am cut out for this... Facing families of cancer fighters/survivors with a smile..when in reality I want to hug them and take their pain away..
Today our Board met a special family.
Little Irie Lord Rohr was just 1 years old when she lost her mother Brienne Rohr to pancreatic cancer. Brienne's Family has surrounded this sweet girl with such love and care. Through their darkness, this experience has made the family stronger and Brienne's spirit will live on, as the teach young Irie to love and be compassionate to others.
Couldn't we all use more love and compassion in our lives?
Phil Lawler Batting 4 A Cure was honored to present this family with a donation this afternoon. Thank you for your continued support we could never change lives without your donations.

But we learn something from everyone who passes through our lives.. Some lessons are painful, some are painless.. but, all are priceless.
Phil Lawler Batting 4 A Cure Foundation donated to the Wegner family today. Justin has been battling cancer for over a year now and is headed to MD Anderson in December. Justin's family has such positive outlook on life, which plays a crucial part on finding Inspiration to keep moving forward.
It reminded me of a quote...
"The pain you feel today is the strength you feel tomorrow. For every challenge encountered there is opportunity for growth."

Thank you to everyone that attended Elves 4 A night! The Ronald McDonald house was so happy to receive the gifts that you donated!
